Media Release 17 February 2026

Right to Life is a voice for unborn children, Gods precious infants and for their mothers, we will not be silenced.

New Zealand will be conducting a nationwide General Election on 7th November 2026, to elect a parliament to govern us for the term of 3 years. Those who govern us do so with the consent of the governed. The fundamental duty of our Parliament is to protect the life of every person in our community, from conception to natural death. We demand that political parties select only those candidates who are committed to defending the lives of the unborn and the vulnerable in our community.

Politicians, the media and the Verian poll tell us that the issues that concern the electorate are the cost of living, the economy, healthcare, crime and global warming. These issues are important but the pre-eminent issue facing our nation is the murder of innocent and defenceless unborn children.

During the term of the current National led coalition government, more than 52,000 unborn New Zealanders were murdered in their mother’s wombs, approved and funded by the State. Our Prime Minister publicly concedes that abortion is murder. Why then does he not seek to protect defenceless children from being violently murdered? Those who refuse to protect the unborn should not be trusted to protect the born. Our nation’s children are our nation’s wealth.

The denial of our children’s right to life and their killing is a violation of basic human rights and a it is a crime against humanity.

The government wants us to believe that abortion is no longer an issue, and that we have all agreed that killing unwanted children is no longer a crime and is now a “health service”.

Right to Life and tens of thousands of New Zealanders will never accept the killing of children before birth as a “health service”, we never have, and we will continue to cry out from the rooftops in defence of the lives of our precious unborn children.

Spokesperson,
