Right to Life commends Winston Peters for rightly calling abortion murder.

Right to Life believes that a nation that murders its own children is a nation without a future.

In a recent interview with Bob McCoskrie of Family First, Winston Peters, when asked about abortion, said “the facts” were worth re-visiting.

“At its worst, and it’s a matter of timing, but it shades into a thing called murder.”

“It shades into a thing called murder or assassination, get any name you like. But that’s the purpose. We’ve got to know the facts.”

He also confirmed his view that human life begins at conception.

Right to life agrees that we as a nation need to revisit this very important human rights and justice issue. The extremist abortion law is not fixed law. The only fixed laws are the 10 commandments of God including the Fifth Commandment, “You shall not kill”.

Right to Life accepts the scientific fact that human life begins at conception, and agrees with the Royal Commission on Contraception Sterilisation and Abortion, which stated in its report to Parliament in 1977, that human life began at conception and that there was no point between conception and birth when the unborn child was not a human being.

• Right to Life asks Winston Peters: "what policies is New Zealand First going to implement to provide protection for the right to life of unborn New Zealanders and to stop the war against women, should his Party be a member of the next government?”

Since the passing of the Abortion Legislation Act in 2020 more than 90,000 innocent and defenceless unborn children were killed in New Zealand before birth in their mother’s womb.

In the current term of the National-led coalition government, it is estimated that nearly 50,000 unborn New Zealanders were killed before birth, funded by the state as a “health service”.

Winston Peters should be assured of the support of the pro-life movement and many concerned citizens for the protection of God’s precious infants.
