Vote to protect human life at the General Election 2026!

Media Release 6 October 2026
Right to Life encourages our community to vote to protect the lives of God’s precious infants and the vulnerable in our community, by voting for the New Conservative Party at this year’s general election.
Those who are not prepared to govern to protect the unborn, should not be trusted to govern the born.
Human life begins at conception. The most dangerous place for a New Zealander today is in the mother’s womb.
The first priority for those who sit in our Parliament is to protect the lives of every human being from conception to natural death.
The New Conservative Party is the only party contesting the general election on 7th November which is committed to protecting all human life from conception to natural death.
The Labour coalition government under Jacinda Ardern enacted the Abortion Legislation Act 2020, stripping unborn children of their right to life, to the point where unwanted children may now be killed up to birth, effectively for any reason.
Since the passing of the Act in 2020 more than 90,000 children have been killed before birth. The lives of vulnerable, elderly and sick are now also threatened through legalised euthanasia and assisted suicide. A consistent voice for life is missing from Parliament, with the few remaining conservative voices being suppressed by their parties.
Our Parliamentarians are controlled by the culture of death. Our Prime Minister Christopher Luxon correctly recognises abortion as murder; however, he claims that the murder of the unborn is “settled law” and has promised to resign, if attempts are made to stop this murder of the unborn. He has promised that his government would continue to fund the murder of the unborn as a “health service.”
The New Conservative Party believes that human life is sacred from conception to natural death, and that mothers should be supported to bring their children to birth, rather than aborting them. Where necessary, adoption should be the answer to an unwanted pregnancy.
The New Conservatives believe that providing adequate palliative care, not providing euthanasia, is the right way to address end of life issues.
They are concerned that present laws do not adequately address the issue of elder abuse, and in fact make our elderly and sick more vulnerable to coercion to end their lives.
New Conservative aspires to be the conscience of Parliament on social issues, including abortion. If elected, they will restore a respect for the sanctity of human life by enacting laws consistent with a culture of life ethic. These would include:
• Introducing a “Personhood Bill” that recognises the right to life of the unborn child, as a human person from their conception.
• They will stop schools being agents to procure abortions for students.
• They will reverse the privatisation of abortion, end taxpayer funding of abortion.
• They will restore free-speech rights for those who speak up in defence of life.
• They will call for an end to mailed-out and pharmacy-dispensed abortion drugs, which are dangerous to women as well as killing the unborn child.
• They will work to repeal the End of Life Choice Act and prioritise more funding for palliative care services for the dying.
• They will support women with unplanned pregnancies, and lobby for adoption to be made easier for mothers who do not wish or are unable to raise their child.
