Media Release 14 September 2025
Christian martyrdom is once again becoming an integral part of living in a neo-pagan society.
Charlie Kirk travelled all over America telling the truth about abortion. He proclaimed the truth that every abortion violently kills a human being, made in the image and likeness of God.
It is alarming that Charlie Kirk, a conservativist activist, and the founder of Turning Point USA, was murdered in front of a crowd of university students while he was addressing them. Charlie Kirk held many of the pro-life and pro-family views that we also hold.
We do not wish to live in a society where we are in danger of being murdered for upholding our Christian beliefs.
We are living in an increasingly violent society, which is threatening our right to free speech, by declaring that any speech which supports the traditional family of exclusively one man and one woman and which opposes the killing of unborn children, as “hate speech.”
Right to Life is committed to opposing violence against women and their precious unborn children, and to upholding the traditional marriage of exclusively one man and one woman.
Right to Life grieves with Charlie Kirk’s wife Erika, and two young children at their tragic loss and we pray for the happy repose of his soul. May he rest in peace.
Charlie Kirk was a passionate advocate for justice. He spoke out frequently for his belief in Christianity, for the right to life, for freedom of speech, for the traditional family and in opposition to the war on women and the murder of unborn children. For speaking out for these beliefs, he was murdered.
He was shot dead on Wednesday 10 September 2025, by a lone gunman at the Utah Valley University campus in Orem, Utah, where he was addressing an audience of 3,000 students.
The FBI advised that a 22 year old suspect turned in by his family, named Tyler Robinson, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Right to Life commends David Seymour, leader of the ACT Party for seeking support for a motion for the NZ parliament to pay tribute to Charlie Kirk by affirming freedom of speech and condemning political violence. It is appalling that this praiseworthy tribute was opposed and blocked by the Labour and Green parties.
