“Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation…
What on God’s good earth is more glorious than this: to be a Mother?"
Right to Life stands with women in celebrating motherhood and a culture of life and opposing a culture of death. Today the culture of death seeks to cancel women and motherhood. Motherhood is increasingly attacked by the advocates of the destructive transgender ideology who reject the truth that God created only two genders, male and female and that men have a right to identify as females. The ‘modern family’, where mothers (or fathers) are treated as optional, is a deliberate denial of what children naturally need. Motherhood is seriously undermined by abortion, contraception, sterilisation and surrogacy.
Human life begins at conception. At the moment of conception the woman becomes the mother of her child. Right to Life grieves and mourns with the thousands of mother’s who mourn the loss of their child in an abortion or by miscarriage, we pray that they will find spiritual healing.
The Abortion Legislation Act 2020, denies that the woman is a mother and denies that her child is a human being with a right to life until it is born. The legislation promotes the lie that the woman does not become a mother until it is born.
Right to Life also commends those heroic women, who have chosen life for their precious child, when faced with abandonment by the father of their child. These heroic women deserve the full support and love of the community. Right to Life requests that the government consider funding for the pro-life pregnancy counselling and support organisations that are here to help these women in their hour of need.
As we approach Mother’s Day, there is much to give concern to pro-family, pro-motherhood people. Woke culture is erasing motherhood everywhere we look. The New Zealand Midwifery Council has recently amended its scope of practice to delete reference to “woman’ and “mother” to be replaced by the term “whanau”.
Right to Life believes that we should be moved by the inspired words of the late Cardinal Mindszenty:-
“The most important person on earth is: A MOTHER
She cannot claim the honour of having built Notre Dame Cathedral.
She need not.
She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral – a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby’s body…
The angels have not been blessed with such a grace.
They cannot share in God’s creative miracle to bring new saints to Heaven. Only a human mother can.
Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation”.
